
2012 Academic Scholarships
OOSC is pleased to announce it will award several $1,000 academic merit scholarships in the spring of 2012. These scholarships are awarded to selected students on the basis of academic excellence, an essay, and involvement in school, community, and work place.
To be eligible for these scholarships, a student must be:
· A candidate for graduation from high school in 2012
· A dependent of
> a military member (either officer or enlisted: active duty, retired, deceased) or
> a YB-3 (GS-7 equivalent) or above employed, or retired from employment at Offutt Air Force Base or
> a military member assigned to a local military unit assigned to Offutt Air Force Base.
Applications must be postmarked no later than March 6, 2012. Incomplete, inaccurate, late, or illegible applications will not be considered for any of the above scholarships.
2012 Spouse Scholarship
OOSC is pleased to announce that it will also award at least one $1,000 spouse scholarship in the spring of 2012. This scholarship is awarded to an eligible applicant based on current scholastic achievement and an essay explaining why the applicant is pursuing further education and how he/she believes further education will be of personal benefit in the future.
To be eligible for this scholarship, the applicant must be currently enrolled in an accredited course of study (including university, professional tradecraft, or other life/career enhancing study) and be the spouse of a military member (officer or enlisted: active duty, retired, or deceased).
Applications must be postmarked no later than March 6, 2012. Incomplete, inaccurate, late, or illegible applications will not be considered for any of the above scholarships.
