About OOSC
Who we are:
We are a
100+ group of spouses of active duty, reserve, and retired officers from all
branches of the military and spouses of the equivalent civil service
employees (GS-7+).
Why we meet:
We meet for two
main reasons: fellowship and service - fellowship with other military
spouses and service to our community.
What we do:
We meet once a
month during the school year for fellowship. The time usually
includes a meal and a short program. Our board of governors also
meets once a month to handle the business of the club. Smaller
groups of members meet regularly for special activities.
Service to our community
primarily entails the operation of the base Thrift Shop and encouraging
our members as volunteers on the base and in the surrounding area.
Some of the money raised by the shop is distributed to organizations
within our base community. Funds are also used for scholarships
distributed each spring to traditional and non-traditional college
students of the Offutt community.
