Thrift Shop General Info
What is its purpose?
Most Officer's Spouses' Clubs
and Enlisted Spouses Clubs have a Thrift Shop that is run on the base.
The Thrift Shop is a great money maker for the charitable side of the
board. The revenue that is brought in goes toward many community
and base organization contributions and scholarships for High School
Seniors and Military Spouses. Last year, 2003-2004, the Thrift
Shop brought in over $30,000. On a monthly basis part of the
revenue that the Thrift Shop brings in is given to the Enlisted Spouses
Club. The Enlisted Spouses Club also gives contributions to
community, base organizations and scholarships.
Who works at the thrift shop?
As many volunteers as we can
round up. Excluding the accountant and the manager, the Thrift
Shop solely operates on volunteers: retirees, enlisted and officer
spouses. WE are always looking for help - no experience needed!
Offutt has a great bunch of volunteers that love to see new faces.
If you have a few hours during the week and would like to assist, please
call, they can always use the extra help, plus it goes to a great cause.
Your childcare is paid up to a certain dollar amount per month.
Details can be gotten from the Thrift Shop manager.
